PURPOSE
The documentary was created to showcase Drake Miller’s passion for climbing and bouldering, highlighting the places his journey has taken him and the lifestyle behind his sport. While produced for class, it also functioned as a professional-level profile piece that demonstrated my ability to create a documentary independently from start to finish.
PRODUCT
A 3:30 short documentary that combined interview storytelling with climbing and bouldering visuals from both local and national locations, completed as a polished portfolio-ready piece.
PROCESS
As part of a class assignment, I directed, filmed, and edited a short documentary on Colorado athlete Drake Miller. The process included conducting an in-depth interview with Drake and pairing it with B-roll I filmed, along with additional footage he provided from his own climbing trips. I edited the project in just two days, building a narrative that blended personal storytelling with striking visuals of his climbing experiences.
