PURPOSE
Colby Archer reached out with a last-minute request for sound design on Travis Hunter’s new Twitch stream intro. The goal was to elevate a fully VFX-driven 47-second intro with audio that matched the pace, energy, and style of Travis’s brand. With a tight five-hour turnaround, the focus was creating a cohesive soundscape that enhanced Colby’s visuals and delivered a polished final product for Travis’s streaming presence.
PRODUCT
The final deliverable was a 47-second VFX intro edited and designed by Colby Archer, featuring layered sound design crafted to match every transition, graphical element, and impact moment. My contribution was the full custom sound design pass, which included atmospheric beds, hits, risers, whooshes, and detailed micro-fx to complement the visual effects and pacing. The sound elevated the intensity of the edit and gave the intro its finished cinematic feel.
PROCESS
Colby sent over the timeline with a five-hour deadline, so I immediately blocked out the visual beats and designed audio around each major cue. I built a layered structure using a mix of custom-designed elements and curated fx, shaping the timing and dynamics to match Colby’s rapid VFX sequencing. Once the full pass was locked, I synced levels, cleaned transitions, and sent back the mix for Colby to finalize into the main edit.
