PURPOSE
This project was created to help launch Caleb Keolanui’s first solo music release outside of his work with The Green, introducing a more personal side of his artistry through visual storytelling. The released video for “Speak Life” was designed to support the song with a family-centered, uplifting visual, while the broader body of work helps build anticipation for a larger solo project rolling out in October. Together, the content supports both the immediate single release and the long-term visual identity of Caleb’s debut solo chapter.
PRODUCT
The released deliverable is a lyric-driven music video for “Speak Life,” produced as a polished visual companion to the single. In addition to that public release, I have also created multiple unreleased lyric and music videos tied to upcoming songs, along with nearly a full album’s worth of acoustic performance videos that are scheduled to roll out with the larger project in October. The broader campaign also includes interview-based content, long-form storytelling elements, and short-form song breakdown reels for Caleb’s social platforms, helping support the release from both promotional and documentary angles.
PROCESS
For “Speak Life,” I directed and filmed Caleb across multiple shoot days, building the video around both performance and personal storytelling. The project included Caleb and his children, with scenes captured across several locations to give the piece a warm, grounded, and authentic feel. I handled the full shoot and edit process, shaping the footage into a music video format, integrating on-screen lyrics for the release, and completing color work in DaVinci Resolve. Beyond the released single, my work with Caleb has expanded into a larger unreleased rollout that includes additional lyric videos, acoustic performances for nearly ten songs, interview clips, and social-first pieces explaining the meaning and creation of each track. While much of that material remains under wraps until the album release, it reflects a larger role in helping shape the visual rollout for Caleb’s first solo project.
