This project was created to highlight Colorado’s presence at the nationally recognized Maui Invitational and to capture the energy of a historic tournament run. It also carried personal significance for me, as I was able to contribute to CU’s coverage of a milestone win while back home in Hawaiʻi for Thanksgiving break.
— PURPOSE
A 1:30 recap video produced within hours of Colorado’s upset win, showcasing the team’s performance, the atmosphere of the tournament, and the significance of the moment.
— PRODUCT
When I learned that Colorado Men’s Basketball would be competing in the 2024 Maui Invitational, I reached out to Director of Digital Content Serena Archer and volunteered to cover the tournament. Flying from my home island of Kauaʻi to Maui during Thanksgiving break, I filmed all three games and captured both action and atmosphere throughout the event. After Colorado upset the defending national champion, I solo-edited a full recap video within just five hours of the end of the game, turning around one of the most memorable projects of the season.
