PURPOSE
The purpose of this project was to help fans get to know Colorado’s new defensive coordinator, Chris Marve. As a new addition to the program, the piece was meant to provide context around who he is, how he carries himself at practice, and what he brings to the team. The goal was to create something informative and engaging that could serve as both a feature story and content to build excitement among the staff.
PRODUCT
The final product was a 3-minute feature built for Colorado Football’s YouTube channel. In addition to the full piece, shorter supporting clips were posted to Instagram to extend the content's life and drive engagement around the feature.
PROCESS
I was given the assignment and built the piece by combining an already-shot interview with practice footage I filmed, including mic’d-up material captured over one day of practice. My role centered on shaping the story through editing, using the interview as the backbone, and pairing it with practice visuals that showed Marve’s coaching style and energy. The edit took two days to complete. A big part of the process was finding the right moments from practice that complemented what he was saying, so the final piece felt both personal and dynamic.
