7 DAYS - Pitch to Posting

PURPOSE

The goal was to build hype for the biggest home game of the year, Colorado vs. Texas Tech on homecoming, with a three-video campaign rolled out across game week. Each video had its own job: welcome the community back home, pull students toward Folsom, then deliver an emotional, historical payoff right before kickoff. One idea tied the three together: Colorado is home, and we protect it.

PRODUCT

The campaign delivered three videos in sequence. "Home," a 1-minute scenic piece capturing Boulder's fall beauty, rolled out Tuesday. Wednesday brought a 20-second poster promo that follows a student who spots a game poster outside the Folsom gates, rips it off the wall, and runs after his friends. The hero deliverable came Friday: a 1-minute historical hype piece, "Forever Folsom," voiced by national champion Charles Johnson and built from archival footage spanning the 1990s, the 2010s, and more.

PROCESS

I pitched the campaign seven days before the final video was posted, then shot everything I needed across those seven days. I edited all three videos in sequential order over three days: Tuesday's scenics, Wednesday's poster promo, and Friday's historical piece, so each one was finished right as it was due to roll out. Eli Milner joined as assistant camera and shooter on the scenics. For the poster promo, I directed fellow CU interns as the cast, and Chase Brown, another CU intern, designed the poster on the wall. For the hero piece, I pulled and cut historical clips from multiple eras into a story, and recorded the voiceover with Charles Johnson a little over 24 hours before the video's release.
