During middle and high school, I volunteered on the feature film Too Much Life with Kauaʻi Made Films, taking on roles such as Camera Operator, Assistant Camera, Grip, Boom Operator, Focus Puller, and Production Assistant. The project gave me my first true experience on a professional film set and showed me the realities of filmmaking beyond the classroom. Holding a boom mic steady during long takes, pulling focus wide open at T1.5, and collaborating in creative discussions with the 1st Camera and Director all pushed me to grow both technically and personally. The intensity, focus, and collaboration I felt on set solidified my passion for filmmaking and left me inspired to pursue it as a career.
